‘Tis the season to have a festive taster. I’m not making this up. Cancel Summer, Winter is officially calling!
Is it sad that Christmas is my favourite time of year, which automatically makes July one of my favourite months. To novices, I’m getting ahead of myself, we’re only halfway through the year and I’ve made the terminology up. Much to your displeasure, there are plenty of saddos out there just like me. A specific market I’ll have you know. Films, gifting, let me fill your stockings. No, boots. No, I meant flip flops. Doesn’t really work does it?Let me introduce you to the dark side…
Christmas in July, also known as Christmas in Summer or Christmas in Winter, is a second Christmas celebration held during the month of July on the Gregorian calendar. It is focused around Christmas-themed activities and entertainment (which is currently on your tv as we speak), including small gatherings, gifts, seasonal entertainment, and shopping. Celebrations for July Christmas typically accommodate for those living in the Southern hemisphere, in which they undergo their annual winter; Australia; South Africa; Columbia; the list goes on! But it’s turned into a worldwide phenomenon. You’re only just getting the memo now, forgive me. Although the main goal of Christmas in July is getting the public in the “Christmas spirit” during the summer season in the Northern hemisphere, which I need absolutely no help or encouragement in this department…

First things first, switch on your tv. Depending on your tv provider and what location you live in, tune into the movie category and there you’ll find either the hallmark channel or movies24. I live in the UK and my provider is SKY TV, but whether you have Virgin, Freeview, BT – they all include Movies24. Same goes for US residents but the equivalent is the Hallmark Channel. Now, if you live in other locations that don’t offer these channels, a VPN is your new best friend. Then you can indulge your Christmas obsession until your frosty heart’s content, hehe! I love watching a cute hallmark Christmas movie late at night every now and then, especially on the weekend. It’s a different level of snug.
Now, onto shopping! If you’re very sad and potentially fall asleep to shopping channels every now and then as background noise, QVC is your dream come true. You can find festive themed items heavily discounted due to the time of year. For example a Christmas stocking, now £4.95 – originally £15. Or a plaid tree skirt, now £12.36 – originally £27.50. So you can stock up ahead of time on Christmas decor for a fraction of the price it’d be in December. Click here to shop their Christmas sale. I know what you’re thinking, what is she on? Imagine what I’m like in December!

Yes, you can put up a mini Christmas tree in the middle of summer. Yes you can exchange gifts, like I ever needed an excuse. And yes, you can even make Christmas cookies. Too far? Hey, I didn’t make the rules! Don’t be grinchy with me!
Do you celebrate Christmas in July? Are you looking forward to Christmas? When is your favourite time of year? Comment below!

Happy Christmas in July. 🙂
My favourite time of year is Christmas. 🎄
Although I don’t celebrate Christmas in July (I always need snow on the ground and frost on the trees to get me in a Christmassy mood) but I don’t begrudge those who do.

Happy Christmas in July even though you don’t celebrate it!😂🎄
Haha you’d be disappointed in England then. December weather is barely snowy😩, terrible I know.
The hallmark channel is banned in your household then throughout July!

Actually I don’t get the Hallmark Channel on my cable TV network.
Otherwise I might watch it since Hallmark movies are a lot better than the garbage on other channels.
I’ve always had a soft spot for romance 🥰 💝 movies.

“Hallmark movies are a lot better”?! Haha that must be the first time I’ve ever heard that, if it’s not Christmas in July I usually swerve those movies😂.
Romantic, gushy movies are your favourite then, noted! I’m not judging…👀😂🍿🙊

I should say the Hallmark Christmas movies are a lot better.
Once tried a non-Christmas Hallmark film and puked my guts out like they say on Monty Python.
If I had Hallmark on the cable TV here in Calgary, I might watch the Christmas movies if it was raining outside which actually it has been the past few nights.
Otherwise if it was sunny, I’d be outside and not watching television.
As it is, I’m inside on my tablet since there is 400 channels on television and nothing on as was once prophesied by a villain in the Lois and Clark Superman TV series named John P. Doe.
He said, “Do you know what the future is? It’s 400 TV channels and nothing on.”
He was spot on.
In actual December, there’s a TV channel here called City TV that actually runs Hallmark Christmas movies during that month so that’s how I’ve seen Hallmark Christmas movies.
But during July, City TV does not celebrate Christmas in July.

The non-Christmas hallmark films leave a lot to be desired, I must say. They’re just very dry. It’s mushy without the mush.
Oh no, it’s raining over here too. As you mentioned, perfect mood for cringeworthy Christmas hallmark movies!😂🍿
VPN could solve all your troubles, you seem to be quite the hallmark fan👀😂.
Haha John P. Doe was spot on then, he could predict your predicament!😂🎄
I’m complaining to City TV on your behalf then. How dare they taunt you with Christmas hallmark films during December but not July?!!
That’s unacceptable. I’m going straight to the chief executive.😡😡😂 Daylight robbery. I have another name for City Tv, and yes I can confirm it’s not PG.😡🤭

WE USED TO DO CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST—-OR AT LEAST THAT WAS WHEN OUR FAVORITE STORES HELD THEIR SALES ON CHRISTMAS CARDS! MY FAVE TIME OF YEAR IS ACTUALLY OCTOBER–EARLY AUTUMN—WHEN I WAS BORN AND THE TREES ARE JUST STARTING TO TURN…!

That’s a genius idea 💡. You see, only you’d think of that. Says a lot… but let’s concentrate on the positives.😆 I’m freezing them especially next time😂😂 I could even store mini snowmen in my freezer. You don’t know what you’ve started here haha!

Thanks for the memo! I had no idea it was actually a long-standing ‘thing’ – apart from a boredom buster at summer camp or nursing homes. I like the encouragement to stock up on gifts all year long. Gosh, all the stress I could’ve avoided!

Haha don’t get me wrong, it can be a boredom buster when there’s nothing else on and the weather’s terrible outside!
Tell me about it😂😂, Christmas always means stress, especially decorating and gifting!😂🤦♀️🎄
