My Current Favourite Fragrances!

Making a bold, lasting first impression is all about the first few seconds of contact. Make them count by wearing the perfect scent for you!

We take times out of our lives daily (at least I hope) to shower, moisturise, hair, makeup and all that jazz. But at the centre of this all is your scent. You finish getting ready by spritzing you favourite perfume(s) all over. There’s no point getting ready if 1-2 hours later we look good but our scent is “meh.”. We have 5 senses after all, fulfil your wildest sensory desires. Yes, we’re still talking about fragrances!

Some like splurging on a vast, fragrance collection on our dresser, whilst others prefer a go-to day-to-night perfume. It really does depend on preference and how much you enjoy personalising your ideal scent. I currently have 2 – 3 favourites which I either spray alone, or layer up. I can’t be the only one with a guilty pleasure, surely?

My zesty, fruity scent for daytime: Givenchy – L’Interdit Eau de Parfum

Givenchy – L’Interdit Eau de Parfum

It’s the perfect enticing floral fragrance with slightly woody notes. As it’s a more sweet, fresh scent, I reach for this everyday as it’s so feminine. Even if I’m feeling like a tomboy, it leaves me feeling like cinderella afterwards. Stays on all day, you know you’re onto a winner if you’re regularly complimented with, “You smell amazing.”. It’s a clean perfume you can wear or spritz on anyone, the perfect all-rounder I also wear this in the evenings sometimes by additionally layering Beyonce – Heat Eau de Parfum, which adds almost bass to the fragrance. ‘Heat’ is almost musky, intense depth woody scent with lighter floral notes. Heat may be discontinued now as I’ve had it for years and my bottle is virtually dry!

My indulgent evening fragrance: Thomson Carter – Rouge Avenue Eau de Parfum

Thomson Carter – Rouge Avenue Eau de Parfum

Where do I start? The delivery man didn’t even have to knock, I smelt it from the other side of my front door – I wish I was kidding. Upon opening the outer packaging, my socks and sandals were blown away. Sultry, doesn’t cut it. It’s the heavenly accompaniment to your evening plans. It fills the whole house with a luxurious almost spicy scent. Floral and woody notes are there but leaning further into woody than the Givenchy L’Interdit, meaning this fragrance captures the 2-in-1 blend I explained above for the evenings. I can’t explain it, it leaves you feeling sexy after one spritz. Almost a warm scent, perfect for date nights and the upcoming festive season… Hey, it’s never too soon!

    1. Hey, I might be sad enough to watch Christmas in July movies on my own, but spritzing perfume to watch hallmark Christmas movies?! I may be mad, but there are levels here😂. What aftershave are you going to wear to watch Elf? I’m sure Will Ferrell will be most impressed😃😏. If Leonardo DiCaprio made a cameo in a hallmark movie, Rouge Avenue is coming all out. I’ll empty the bottle if I have to😂🥸.

      1. I’ve never watched Elf and from trailers I’ve seen for it, I don’t ever plan to.

I like the old Christmas movies like Christmas In Connecticut with Barbara Stanwych from 1944 and A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims from 1951.

I think the only modern Christmas movie I like is Love Actually with Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy.
