My 24th Birthday!

Birthday’s only call for one thing, food! Pure fat, gift-wrapped would be most welcome, thankyou!

A year older. Wiser? I don’t think that’s possible luckily for you! Glad rags at the ready, but first thing’s first – feed me!

A dirty steak was on the agenda, specifically at Marco Pierre White. I’m not going to lie, I was hesitant as I haven’t heard the best reviews online or in person about this place so I wasn’t expecting much other than a hefty bill which I’ll be gladly dodging. That’s what birthday’s are for, right?

Honestly, hands down I can say I was very impressed. I even consumed olives and warm buttered fresh sourdough, which is very unlike me. Heavenly, and I don’t usually eat bread at restaurants. You can usually tell its been exposed all day by the cold, dry stale texture. I can usually use it as a weapon to knock some sense into the waiter’s commission. If only it were ever that easy…

Aside from accepting thoughtful and generous gifts there’s always room to treat yourself. It is your day after all. Rinse the self appreciation day for all it’s worth. Your bank waives the overdraft fee on your birthday, don’t they? Can we petition for that too?

The Net-a-Porter sale was perfectly in sync with my birthday. Prices… not so much but it’s the thought that counts. I over-indulged in ‘Reformation’ dresses, oops. But on the upside, as soon as the order arrived they fit like a glove. I could now fully understand what all the hype was and is about. So much so I ordered myself another dress and a cheeky pair of branded sunglasses. Can I insert the ‘it’s my birthday’ excuse for the tenth time here or?
