How To: STOP Your Eyeshadow Creasing/Review !

When we work so in hard achieving the perfect eye look, then 10 minutes later you see most of it clumped/soaked up in your eye crease, it just ruins the look and the time you spent on it! But there’s a trick in never ever seeing it crease again!

Hooded eyes (mine), oily lids, monolids, and even ageing skin, are the most prone to creasing. And will probably find it almost impossible, to wear eyeshadow for even a couple hours, without seeing an obvious line all your makeup is settling into. It’s almost like we have a built in makeup remover! But that definitely isn’t what we want. The only way we can achieve faultless application and wear is by…

Primer: And not any primer. Eye primer. We always hear about foundation primers and many of us have them! But we always forget about the eyes! Scientists say the average person blinks 15-20 times a minute. Up to 1,200 times an hour; a startling 28,800 times a day! Our eyes need some TLC. It’s all about the prep, and thats eyeshadow primer.

Best Eye Primer: There are many out there. Some work for some, others don’t. I’ve tried many and frustratingly, they all still seemed to crease on me! Going forward I just overlooked all the claims they all made about long wearing, creaseproof and many more, until I heard and tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion!

Urban Decay Primer Potion: This was the best purchase I’ve ever made! After application and wearing, I see no crease in sight! And it really locks the eyeshadow in place. I always buy the original, which is transparent (or you’ll see a little cream colour). I’ve tried it on darker siblings and it’s perfect for them. They have a few shades depending what eye look you go for. They also have an anti-aging formula. Plus you only need a very small amount of product to do the job, making it last way longer!

Claims and Description: It promises to keep your colour vibrant and crease-free for 24 hours. It’s paraben-free. It comes with an applicator. ‘Space age polymer technology fills in any imperfections on the skin’s surface, prepping your lid for all-day shadow’.

Price: £17.50 ($24) 10ml. Travel size: £9.50 ($13) 6ml.

Final Thoughts and Tips: This is my holy grail! I’ve been using it for years and I’m never without it! It does all it claims to do and more. Tip for oily lids, when using this product, if you still find it doesn’t completely crease proof your eyes, use a little bit of translucent powder over the top of the primer. I’ve never had this issue but I imagine some people suffer from extremely oily lids. And that will help lock it in place all day, every day!
