L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner Range. Hit or Miss?

Shiny and weather-resistant hair whilst being sulphate free? Too good to be true?

We’ve all been there where we spend hours on our hair or a fortune at the hair salon for a bouncy blow dry, pin straight hair or a luscious curly mane and the second you leave, external impurities and elements instantly revert your hair back to its natural state. We could clingfilm our hair sure, but I’d rather save that for proofing bread. Me? Ratchet? Never!

I came across this range recently and had to give it a whirl. A viral hit on TikTok, does it live up to its hype?

I decided to try out the whole range which centres around 4 products. A 4 step treatment if you will.

  1. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Shampoo – £12.99
  2. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Conditioner – £12.99
  3. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Lamination Treatment – £15.99
  4. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Treatment – £5.99
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Sulphate-Free Glycolic Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner Haircare Range.

Phew, that was a mouthful. My thoughts: sensational! *Insert Chris Brown meme here* My hair felt and looked amazing, lightweight whilst maintaining an iridescent almost shine that was no longer the victim to humidity. I love how I could pick and choose when or if I need to weather proof my hair dependent on plans and that I’m in control of when I need the extra gloss and protection as if I’m having a quiet few days, I can just wash my hair without using step 3 and 4 each time. And it was surprisingly easy to use, not messy or excessive.

This range is for all hair types, straight, wavy, curly, coils and everything in between. But it’s especially a match made in heaven with dull, porous hair. You know you’re living your best hair days when your curls are complimented. Now that’s a beautiful day!

Pros: Affordable; no sulphates; universally versatile for all hair types; helps reduce frizz from humidity, helping repel external additional moisture without drying out the hair. Adding beneficial properties including glycolic acid to help strengthen, heal and seal hair whilst making your silky soft, moisturised locks look like a Krispy Kreme donut. Indulgent without the heft price tag!

Cons: The fact I didn’t try this sooner.

      1. do you know if it’s safe to use on coloured hair? I have chunky dark brown and platinum blonde highlights and my hairs naturally dirty blonde, I’m scared it will strip the colour off but I really want to try it

      2. Hi Freya! I’m not too sure as I don’t have coloured hair myself, I have looked into this query though and haven’t witnessed any claims from L’Oréal stating this to be safe for coloured hair. So possibly you are able to but sadly I can’t confirm this for you. It also doesn’t state it cannot be used on coloured hair, so you could try it possibly just before you’re due for a recolouring and see whether you like it? Or if it agrees with your coloured hair?
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful relating to this query, but any other advice I can provide, please don’t hesitate to ask!😊
        Hope you’re having a lovely, calming Sunday!😊🤍
