Your Favourite Haircare Recommendations Needed!

Tried and tested haircare lines to transform lacklustre hair into your best hair day yet. Shiny, soft, healthy, clean – I want and need it all! Send help!

My shampoo and conditioner bottles are virtually empty. I was looking at replacing them due to habit, but I knew that simply came from a place called comfort. You tend to get a little dubious and hesitant trying a different shampoo and conditioner, especially when you have the add-on serums, leave-in conditioner or heat protective sprays that are all combined within that named regime. You’ve wasted money just to get less than half-used product.

You feel disloyal. You feel locked in like you’re trying to exit a cult. It’s like your shampoo knows and gives up on being efficient and doing its job. You’re effectively cheating and looking for the next best thing. I’m embarrassed… but beyond ready to change it up! Sorry not sorry!

The ‘Living Proof No Frizz’ hair range used to be so good. A game changer. Probably the first two inanimate object I deeply loved as who doesn’t like dreamy, silky hair? But no, brands have a peculiar habit of changing something that hasn’t broken. It was a cult favourite, before they decided to change the formula. I’ll be honest, I tried to like the new version, putting aside everyone’s regrets buying it and noticing the dramatic difference in quality. I unfortunately would no longer recommend the no frizz range. The shampoo does not lather easily and leaves your hair feeling heavy and not clean like there’s build up lingering in your hair. So it’s most definitely time for a change!

Things can change completely gif.

I’ve been on the look out for a great sulphate and silicone-free range. One that won’t do the bare minimum and leave your hair looking and feeling as though you wish you had used a range with sulphates! I’ve even heard of some very well-known hair brands with active lawsuits, claiming to cause hair loss. And let me tell you, these brands are not what I’d deem affordable so I’m beyond shocked! SO it’s beyond important to do your research before trying out a new haircare line and listen to reviews from people with unbiased agendas. OGX is a great range I may go back to if there are no other options as I haven’t come across any other brands with raving, trusted reviews. And when I do believe the praise of some and via the brands claims themselves, I look further at the ingredients list which contain ‘Sodium Lauryl Sulfate’ which is also known as false advertising and/or misleading consumers!

If you pay a premium price, you’d expect premium service and experience, which is not so common today.

I’m surprised in 2024, it seems very difficult to find an eye-catching, useful shampoo and conditioning. Worst case scenario, I’ll save my money and pop into the pound shop. At least you’ll get what you pay for without feeling disappointed and ripped off! But really, I need your favourite shampoo and conditioner recommendations for me to try out so at least if it doesn’t work for me, I have someone else to blame. I’m joking!

    1. I haven’t! I’ve just checked out the brand, ingredients and reviews and it’s all ticking many boxes thankfully! It’s cheaper than living proof, so it’s already looking up for me haha!

  1. I use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo.

Since it’s for babies, they don’t put a lot of guck and chemicals into it.

Of course some people might think I’m a pansy for using it.

Of course they never say that again the 2nd time if they’ve said it the first.

    1. I’ve heard of people using baby shampoo with rave reviews due to the gentle nature! Hehe exactly, as the saying goes: “don’t knock it till you try it”. I’ll check out the ingredients and formula when I next visit my local drugstore, thankyouu so much for the recommendation!😊🤍
