The Secret To Bright Under-Eyes !

We all know there’s concealer out there, but what’s even better than that?

Sometimes, you don’t feel like wearing heavy makeup, but you want the effect that you’re wearing a little something. An inner, youthful, brightening, under-eye that looks like it’s coming from within, seems virtually impossible for many of us. I remember applying makeup to a sister of mine and even before applying their foundation, they looked in the mirror and their jaw dropped. They said “What did you do to my face? My skin looks flawless and glowy”. I wasn’t even expecting them to be so surprised, I thought as they’re not really into makeup they would barely notice a difference. So I mentioned the overall products/creams I used on the skin, then I disclosed the product I used for their under-eyes, since they had quite dark bags, they could instantly see the difference. So, what’s the secret?

The ‘Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector‘. I can’t rave about this product enough. It’s youth in a pot (that sounds like a suspicious plant hahaha) but honestly it’s the best thing out there. I first got my hands on it as part of a collection about 3 years ago, and thought what is this? It looks pink in the pot (because it is pink) and I thought that’d look terrible on my complexion, silly me thought it’d only suit a lighter complexion. But how wrong was I? It works by correcting the discolouration under your eyes, and basically gives the illusion of a lifted eye. As it brightens your under-eye so much (not excessively) you only need the tiniest bit every time you apply. The first time you think you need more than you do, but you realise a little goes a very long way.

The texture of the product is quite tacky, so it’s something you may have to get used to. Because of the tackiness it also makes the perfect primer for concealer as it creates a tacky base for your concealer to hold on to. That’s the main use for this product, an under eye base which acts like a backlight. I couldn’t live without this product. It’s apart of my skincare routine before applying makeup! It comes in a range of 2 shades. Light-Medium or Medium-Dark. This glorious product is creaseless and doesn’t settle into fine wrinkles.

This product is a life changer and I would recommend to anyone especially if their discolouration is peaking through their concealer or you’re noticing your concealer settling into lines, try this. I take this everywhere! Just amazing.

Do you own any Becca products? Do you suffer from products settling into your under-eye area? Do you already own this product? Comment below!

  1. I may have to try this, although I’ve never used the brand before. No matter how much I blend before setting, my concealer always sits in the natural lines under my eyes. Do you apply normal primer before it?

    1. I wasn’t too aware of this brand before I used their products either!
I use a normal face primer all over my face (any you have). Becca also has a backlight priming filter (face primer) which is meant to give you a backlight glow and it works really well.
I apply the under eye corrector mentioned in this post, under my eyes, and I use a little amount anywhere I have more redness like around my nose. Some people use this under eye corrector after foundation so just before concealer, but I just use it before foundation, I don’t really think it matters. But after this corrector and concealer I still blend before I set like you do. I really make sure their are no creases anywhere, smile lines, under-eyes. Then I set immediately after! I find the corrector works amazingly as it leaves your concealer (after it’s blended and set) looking creaseless, seamless, and it extends the longevity of your concealer so much. Also, sometimes if you over-set it can make your under-eyes look too dry/emphasise the lines.
Sorry for ranting😂😂 I hope these tips makes sense! 😃💕

  2. Wow! That’s one great review. I especially loved the images that you used in the article. Concealers do make a lot of difference. Would definitely look for Becca, don’t know if they sell it in my country though. Thanks for sharing 😊🌸
