My name is Mrs Claus for the holidays. What’s Christmas without red lipstick? Do I look like Grinch to you?! Don’t answer that…
This is the easiest tutorial EVER! Even I was shocked by how well it turned out! It’s all about keeping the skin simple and glowing, so a tiny amount of foundation, concealer only where it’s needed, touch and I mean a TOUCH of powder in the T-zone, then bronzer, blush, highlighter. All applied with the lightest of hands.
P.S. Ignore my flyaways. I don’t use hair gel!
It’s easy to get carried away focusing on the skin, applying more and more makeup. But when you’re working with red as the final touch on the lips, less is always more. The final result comes out classical and almost dainty looking.
The eyes are still stripped back, for this look. But still packs a holiday punch. Neutral transitional shades in the crease, and a shimmering champagne eyeshadow so you’re looking all Christmas gift wrapped. And to finish the eyes, a thin black eyeliner, smoked out with a dark brown eyeshadow, just to soften the eyes, but add more mystery with a light smoked effect.
All of this impact from ONE small eyeshadow palette. Perfect for gifting or simply treating yourself like I did!
The red lip is in a mind of its own. Out of this universe. Rihanna, thank you for making the perfect red that’s kissable and long-lasting.
Palette used: NARS UNWRAPPED eyeshadow palette in LAGUNA.
Shades used: SUNKISS (matte warm brown) applied in crease, MORONGO (shimmering champagne gold) applied liberally on eyelid to pop, LIBÉRATION (deep matte brown), smoke the black eyeliner with a touch of this shade.
